What are the procedures for "in" or "out" treatment?

To avoid problems at the moment of a claim, the insured must take care to observe the insurance procedures. Please note that more or less, all companies will request same documents and will follow sames rules to take in charge your claim.

– When visiting the doctor, this one must complete and fix his seal on a « reimbursement form« . The insured must also complete and sign this document and specify the details of the bank on which he wants to be reimbursed.

– In case of hospitalization, the insured must request a « preauthorization » from the insurer. To do this, and BEFORE any decision of hospitalization (except in cases of extreme urgency), the insured will have to complete an agreement form, so the doctor in charge. This preliminary procedure should also be respected for specific acts (MRI …) which can be prescribed.

  – In case of doubts regarding a procedure or emergency, don’t hesitate  to contact the 24/24 hotline which is on your membership  card : they will tell you what to do. You can also contact your broker in charge before deciding if you don’t know what to do.

Don’t forget that if the insured does not follow the insurance procedure, this one is entitled to refuse reimbursement of cares.

Some companies now allow to fax or scan documents for reimbursement. This significantly reduces the time … and risk of loss by the Post! The originals shall be retained because the insurer may control later on and claim them afterwards.
